North Louisiana Rodeo Association 2014 Rules and Regulations
All contestants and their parent/guardians must abide by the Rules and
Regulations of the rodeo. All members and their parents/guardians are
responsible for reading and fully understanding the Rules and Regulations of the
rodeo. Not understanding said Rules and Regulations will be no excuse for
noncompliance with said Rules and Regulations.
All contestants and their parents/guardians must accept the decision of the
judges and/or arena director (or designee) as final. Misconduct of a contestant
or representative may cause a disqualification of said contestant. This includes
arguing with the judge. If at any time a parent or contestant argues with a
judge, the judge first warns the parent or contestant of possible consequences
and if the argument persists the contestant can be disqualified for the
remainder of the rodeo.
Rough Stock Events – all youth contestants must wear protective vest and
helmet. Contestant will draw rough stock at time of entry. All rough stock will
be drawn.
During ALL events, ONLY contestants
and arena help will be allowed in the arena. Contestants will be allowed in when
it is their turn. Youth contestants will be allowed to have a parent, other
adult, or contestant in the arena to assist them if needed.
In the event
of a tie at the end of the year, contestants are required to either flip a coin
or have a ride, run or rope off between the contestants that are tied. If one
contestant in the tie does not want to flip a coin or have ride off, they forfit
the said prize.
A contestant has 2 minutes to enter the arena once the
arena is ready and their name has been called for the first gate call. If over 2
minutes, this will result in a NO TIME.
No re-run will be given due to
faulty or broken equipment furnished by the contestant. If a time is missed due
to a timer’s fault or malfunction of timers the contestant will receive a re-run
at a time so designated by the judge’s and the arena director.

Exhibition barrels will be held BEFORE the youth
rodeo. Exhibitions are $3. Exhibitions are open to ANYONE. *If Time Allows*
Standings and
prizes will be based on MONEY EARNED for the Open
Youth will be based on
points.
$5.00 will be taken
from each paid entry fee per rodeo and put toward prizes for the finals.
There will be no memberships sold this year. There will be a one time association fee of $20 per contestant. This fee will be due by March 1. Fee must be paid to compete at finals. Prizes will be given to the top 5 in each youth event. Prizes will be awarded to the first place contestant in the open.
Selling sponsorships will not be required this year but anyone wanting to sponsor will be appreciated.
Rodeo attire is not required at most rodeos, will announce which ones it will be
required for.
Youth barrels are open to all girls and boys.
Open barrels will be a woman ONLY event. In youth barrels, only one entry per
contestant per age group. In open barrels, only one entry per contestant. Youth
contestants are allowed to ride in their age group and the age groups above
them. You can move up, NOT down in the age groups.
Everyone pays at the
gate, contestants included. $5, 6 & under free.
